June GLAM Networking Breakfast
Event description
Our June guest speakers will be Access2Arts.
Rebecca (Bec) Young is an experienced and values-driven leader in South Australia's for-purpose sector, with a strong focus on access, inclusion, and community engagement. As Chief Executive of Access2Arts, she leads the state’s peak body for arts and disability and chairs the new national Arts and Disability Network Australia, working to remove barriers and create opportunities for disabled people to participate in and lead within the arts.
Jude Gaffney is a spirited Arts Administrator with 20 years of Festival and large-scale music and sporting event experience.
Identifying as a disabled woman, Jude is dedicated to using her lived experience to advocate for change and better accessibility for her community. She is a qualified Visual Artist, completing her Advanced Diploma of Applied and Visual Arts, majoring in Jewellery at North Adelaide School of Art. She has successfully staged exhibitions around Australia. As a founding member of Adelaide Roller Derby, she has skated her way around Australia, New Zealand and North America.
Access2Arts is a disability-led arts development agency and the peak body for arts and disability in South Australia.
Access2Arts supports:
- d/Deaf and disabled people in South Australia to get involved in the arts as audiences, participants, artists, arts workers and leaders.
- Arts and cultural organisations to become more inclusive and accessible.
We celebrate the unique perspectives, stories and aesthetics of d/Deaf and disabled artists, and the value of telling our own authentic stories through art and amplify the voices of d/Deaf and disabled people in the arts.
