June Intermediate Obedience Class in West Roxbury

Intermediate Obedience class will take place at the Theodore Parker Church in West Roxbury, MA on Tuesdays at 6:00pm to 6:50pm for 7 sessions: 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/01, 7/08, 7/15, and 7/22.  

Topics will include focused attention and engagement, staying in the sit and down positions with distractions, polite greetings, loose leash walking past distractions, go to a mat, and heel. This course is great for those that want to continue their training and learn how to apply basic obedience skills to real world situations.

Prerequisites include:

• Have taken Beginner Obedience with Sit Pretty or with another positive reinforcement trainer within in the last two years. 
• Use of mark and reward-based training and have an established marker. 
• Have the following behaviors on verbal and/or hand cue: sit, down, hand target, loose leash walking, recall, and leave-it.

This course is appropriate for dogs older than 6 months of age and for those dogs that do not excessively bark, lunge, or growl at strangers and other dogs. If your dog has trouble working around other dogs or humans, please reach out. Our new "Reactivity Meets Real World" program may be right for you. Please contact us if you would like to audit the class without your dog or would like to observe the class to determine if it's right for you.

For this course to run, there is a minimum of 4 students required, this course will be postponed if we cannot meet course requirements.
