Event description

The day you've all waited for is finally here: we're running a Oneshot Day! We have a range of DM's itching to get to know you and have fun! We will be running D&D games as well as a Starfinder 1E game! Whether you're a Tabletop Veteran or a Beginner looking to get started, this event is open to all!

Check out the descriptions of each game being run on our Humanitix page, select your ticket to register your place at the table, and we'll get you set up from there! Don't fret about meeting your DM before the date - you'll be able to see them in a personal channel on Discord!

Keep in mind the official event is from 12pm - 4pm, but feel free to say hello before then!

FAQ

What is a TTRPG?

TTRPG stands for Tabletop Roleplaying Game. You play as a character within the game, like an Elvish Sorcerer for example, and are guided through a world of characters, action, puzzles and roleplaying by a GM, or Game Master. For this event we'll be facilitating the GM side of things.

What is a one-shot?

A one-shot is a game that lasts a single session, compared to a campaign that might run over months or even years. They typically take 3-4 hours to complete.

I've never played before, can I join?

Absolutely! Feel free to let your Game Master know about your experience level prior to the event, and they'll be more than happy to help guide you before the day and during the game. If you want to get an idea of the game system you've joined, YouTube channels such as Critical Role, or Dimension 20 are a great way to see how it might be played (though our games will definitely be more relaxed).

What supplies will I need?

We want these games to be as accessible as possible, so you don't need to bring anything! However, if you want to bring your own dice or notebook you're more than welcome. Your Game Master may ask you to bring a device like a laptop or phone to access online resources, but if this isn't viable for you please talk to them about it once we've got you set up with a group. Food and drink will be provided for free but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

Do you need to dress up or put on voices to play?

Only if you want to! The vast majority of games don't have costumes or amazing voice acting, but you're more than welcome to dive into your character if you want. No pressure!
