Event description

Following a great trial of our Junior Astronomy programme last year, we're ready to start this up again with monthly events from March to November.

This weekend is free, we invite all those who visited last year and all those keen to join us this year to come along for some combination of telescope, planetarium and other activities. Bookings are required so we can cater for the number of juniors adequately.

YOU have homework for this Sunday...

1 - Our group needs a good name, put your thinking caps on. Every mission has a name, remember NASA's manned Space program went through Mercury, Gemini and finally Apollo.

2 - Bring a question or topic you would like to cover this year. We want your ideas and if the group want to study it then you might become the mission specialist.

This program is designed to be interactive and educational, but each meeting is a separate topic so missing one doesn't put you behind. We can do a lot of astronomy in daylight hours, but during Winter we will schedule some Friday or Saturday evening sessions when the weather allows to get some real telescope time.

The first event this Sunday (March 16th) is free.
