🚀 Junior Rocketeers – A STEM Workshop with ANU Rocketry
Join the ANU Rocketry Team for a fun, hands-on workshop where kids can build and launch their very own air-powered cardboard rockets!
This free outreach event is designed for ages 9–12, but curious minds of all ages are welcome. Participants will explore the science of flight, learn basic engineering principles, and test their rocket designs using real launchers—guided by real university rocketry students.
Expect an engaging session full of creativity, learning, and excitement as we introduce the next generation to the wonders of aerospace and engineering.
Event Details
FREE – registration is essential!
Choose from three available 1.5hr sessions
Please arrive 10 minutes early for sign in
Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Wet Weather Plan
This is an outdoor event. In case of rain or extreme weather, sessions will be cancelled for safety, with email notification sent at least 1 hour prior.
Safety & Supervision
Children will build and decorate rockets using cardboard and craft supplies, then safely launch them using compressed air under the supervision of trained ANU student volunteers. A first aid-qualified coordinator will be present throughout the event.
Parental consent is required at registration, including optional permission for media use.
