    Event description

Just a Farmer is a compelling feature film that seeks to initiate and deepen conversations around mental health, particularly within the agricultural community. By sharing the untold stories of farmers and the unique challengers they face the film aims to shed light on mental health issues and promote community solidarity.

The Upper Murray suicide prevention network Thrive, along with Corryong Baptist Church and Corryong Health jointly present this excellent film to create an ongoing informative opportunity for people to respond to the issues of mental health and well-being.

The screening of Just a Farmer is a free event and will be held at the Youth Club Hall in Donaldson Street, Corryong on Friday 18th October 2024 at 7.00pm. A light supper will be available after the screening.

The evening will include the guest appearance of Leila McDougall, the film maker and leading role as a farmer’s wife Alison.

The story tracks Alison’s journey through life after tragedy. The film reveals the remarkable resilience of farming communities. Just a Farmer is a powerful story of love, loss, and survival as it touches the hearts of community in different ways as Alison navigates life without her husband, Alec.
