Justice responses to sexual violence

• Updates on coercive control laws and how they aren’t working as intended

• Updates on the Australian Law Reform Commission’s recommendations in the Justice Responses to Sexual Violence report

• Defamation risk as a weapon to silence women, and how medical systems and records can come into play

• Information collection issues, including the sexual assault communications privilege and what information police collect that you may not realise

• What Women’s Legal Service NSW offers and referring clients to us or other organisations.

Gabrielle Craig is an Assistant Principal Solicitor at Women’s Legal Service NSW. She has worked in community legal centres for almost 20 years and joined Women’s Legal in 2014. Gabrielle is an accredited specialist in family law.
