Kalyāna Meets: Gil Fronsdal
Description
"One of the things that kills Buddhist life is excessive seriousness" - Gil Fronsdal
Kalyāna, Thriving, and Wholeness on the Buddhist Path to Freedom
Hidden in the open are the Buddha’s important teaching on inner beauty, abundance, and wholeness, all in the service of our profound capacity for liberation and awakening. Inspired by the mission of the Kalyānamitta Dharma Collective and the friendships of its founding members, Gil will talk and answer questions on inspiring teachings of the Buddha connected to the mission of the collective.
About Gil
We are tremendously lucky to be hosting Gil Fronsdal for the second installment of the Kalyāna Meets series. Gil is among the most respected teachers in the west today. His teaching, writing and scholarship draws on 50 years of practice in the traditions of Sōtō Zen and Insight Meditation, as well as a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from Stanford. We are particularly inspired by his emphasis on the role of kalyāna, which he translates as ‘the beautiful’, on the path to liberation and peace.
