    Event description

The Walking Club of Victoria invites you to join them on their Kanga’s and Ruins of Woodlands Park / Gellibrand Hill loop- Grade 3 (Medium). This walk is part of the Try Bushwalking Month, celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Bushwalking Victoria, the peak body representing 60+ bushwalking clubs across Victoria.

Join the Walking Club of Victoria (WCV) for a mostly easy amble, with a few gentle hills through lightly wooded bush. Visit the ruins of Dundonald and Cumberland homesteads. In this gem close to Melbourne you sometimes see an occasional Kangaroo, and a variety of trees and grasses, possibly including a meadow of Kangaroo Grass.

DISTANCE:  It's about a 13 Km /Loop walk that will take 6 hours

WHO IS THIS WALK FOR? This walk would be ideal for beginners wanting to try tracks without getting lost, experienced walkers seeking a bush walk close to Metropolitan area, people wishing to return to bushwalking after some absence, or recovering from illness or injury.

CHILDREN AND PETS:  This walk is for adults 18 years and over, and due to the nature of the walk, we ask you to leave dogs and other pets at home.  Please contact the club directly to inquire about service animals, and any family or pet friendly walks.

ABOUT OUR CLUB: The Walking Club of Victoria is a small friendly club where new members are very welcome.  We offer two or three walks per week, on Wednesday and Sunday and a Strollers Walk usually on a Thursday or Friday every two or three weeks.  We always end our Sunday walks at a coffee shop or car boot afternoon tea.  Wednesday walks start with coffee and are accessible by public transport.  Our members generally live in inner and outer suburban Melbourne and our walks can be in the North, South, East or West, but usually within an hour or hour and half of the city. Every year we offer numerous weekday and weekend walking trips, coupling together two or three consecutive days of walking, and social activities.
