Event description

Just a short boat ride away is the beautiful Kāpiti Island and surrounding it the breathtaking underwater world of Kāpiti Marine Reserve. Come on out with the Mountains to Sea Wellington team and our friends Kāpiti Island Nature Tours for a day of unforgettable snorkelling in this pristine marine environment.

Our incredible Experiencing Marine Reserves snorkel guides will help you explore the spectacular marine biodiversity and answer any questions you may have about the plethora of amazing animals that call the reserve their home. All equipment, guides and safety gear is provided. Please note the minimum age is 8 years, and children below 18 must be accompanied by a snorkeling adult.

You will also enjoy plenty of free time to relax on the beach or head inland to explore the interior of the island via DoC's well-marked walking tracks. These will take you through stunning native bush that is teeming with New Zealand's most iconic and rare native bird life.

Tickets must be purchased to secure your boat ride over to the Island, and guided snorkel tour with our team. Spaces are very limited so please get in quick to save disappointment.

We have two options for the meeting times of 8:45am and 9:30am for both Saturday and Sunday, so take your pick of what suits you and your family and friends!

Weather updates will also be posted here and on our Facebook event page. Please check on the morning of the snorkel for any updates.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

If the event is cancelled and the boats cannot travel to the island, we will organise a full refund.

If the boat travels but conditions are not good for snorkeling, you still be able to travel to the island to explore the island, and just the snorkeling component will be refunded.
