Katrina Choi is an Australian classical pianist who has performed in Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, England, and the USA. Her interest in French and Russian music has led her to win various prizes, including the 2022 Shoalhaven Piano Championship, 2021 Sydney Eisteddfod Duo Sonata with Amanda Chen, and a 2024 Poros International Piano Academy audience choice. She made her debut Melbourne recital in March this year at St Paul's Cathedral, titled “En blanc et noir”, exploring dualities of expression, through these two styles. She was a scholarship recipient at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, completing her Bachelor and Master of Music (Performance) with Phillip Shovk, and Clemens Leske. She continues at the Conservatorium as an Open Academy piano tutor. Since graduating, Kat has intermittently returned to Europe to learn with Paul Roberts, as well as other distinguished pianists.
Kat has a passion for hosting concerts alongside her wonderful friends, three of which have sold out the Sydney Conservatorium's Recital Halls. Highlights have been "Late-Hoven: Beethoven's Late Piano Sonatas", "Two of a Kind: 20th Century Piano Duos", "Fantasie, Moon, and Sonata": Duos with piano, guitar, and violin, "Spring Soirée: Piano Quintets", "Ravel 150: Piano Masterworks", celebrating the Ravel's 150th anniversary, and, most recently, "Chopin: The Complete Ballades and Scherzos".
She is often found enjoying nature, seeking good coffee and pastries, or delving into other artistic channels - these are the basis of Kat’s personal series, “Music, Art, and Tea”. The third edition, “Pastorale”, is a programme of Beethoven, to be held with violinist Amanda Chen, and pianist James Wilkes. Kat has fundraised for multiple causes through concerts, her first marathon and half marathon races, and as a World Vision sponsor. She has a Taekwondo bronze medal from the 2016 AAITF National Championships, and her film photography was featured in the University of Sydney’s 2017 Student Anthology.
Australian pianist Joshua Han has been praised for “complete empathy with the music” (Sydney Arts Guide) and his “explosive and rhythmic power, maturity and mastery” (Classic Melbourne). Joshua gained national attention after winning both First Prize and Audience Prize at the 2024 Australian National Piano Award, in the same year that he was named Runner-up and Concerto Prize winner of the 2024 Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition.
Since winning his first gold medal at the Sydney Eisteddfod aged six, Joshua has maintained an active performance career. He has performed across four continents, appearing as soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra. In April 2026, Joshua stepped in at short notice for soloist Alexander Gavrylyuk, performing Strauss’ Burleske with The Orchestra Project and Fabian Russell. In 2013, he appeared on Australia’s Got Talent alongside his older brother, violinist Oscar Han, with their act named a Top 6 Grand Finalist. His international competition successes have included First Prizes at the International Piano Island Competition, International Piano Competition J.S. Bach in Memoriam Walter Blankenheim, Aarhus International Piano Competition, and Ettlingen International Piano Competition.
Joshua's 2026–27 season includes concerto appearances with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Harbour Ensemble, as well as recital collaborations with violinist Beatrice Colombis and pianist Bernice Chua.
Born in 2002, Joshua began piano studies aged four and received his Licentiate Diploma (LMusA) aged ten. He is a final year Doctor of Medicine student at the University of Sydney, whilst undertaking a Master of Music Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Paul Rickard-Ford. Joshua is a recipient of Emerging Artist Grants from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust and the Theme and Variations Foundation, and is currently supported by the Cope-Williams Arts Foundation and Brian Anderson AC & Dianne Anderson AM.
