Sara Maurer is the author of A Good Animal, a Book of the Month Club pick and one of Chicago Review of Books' Most Anticipated Books of 2026. She earned her bachelor's degree from Albion College and her master's from Eastern Michigan University, and honed her creative writing craft while completing Stanford's Continuing Studies Novel Writing Certificate program. Her short fiction can be found in Dunes Review, Hominum Journal, and The Twin Bill. She lives with her family in Sault Ste. Marie.
