Dr. Kate Forsyth is an award-winning author, poet, and storyteller whose work spins together art, folklore, history and myth into spellbinding new tales. Kate has been called one of ‘the finest writers of this generation’, and ‘one of the best storytellers of our modern age’.
Kate is an acclaimed teacher of creative writing and lectures on creativity, fairy tales, and myths. An accredited master storyteller with the Australian Guild of Storytellers, she runs writing and cultural retreats in Australia, Greece, and the United Kingdom.
In her author talk, Kate will be talking about the inspirations and challenges of writing her novel Psykhe, a powerful reimagining of an ancient Greek myth of love, death, desire, and disobedience. She will also share some of the challenges and joys of her long writing career, and how she manages to sustain such creative vitality.
Kate will be available for book signings at the Yass Book Store stand in the Library from 5.30pm-6pm.
