Katoomba Comedy Club runs on the 2nd Thursday of each month at The Factory Bar, Katoomba. Hosted by UK legendary double act Brian and Krysstal, each show features a headline and support act hand-picked from Sydney, Australian and International comedians. It also has a Pear Shaped section where locals get to try their hand at stand-up or test new material.

Thursday 8 October we have Headliner Gary Eck, with Sam Bowring opening, Brian and Krysstal as MC's and locals Steve Skelly and improv duo Scary Strangers

Lineup

  • Pear Shaped Middle Section

    Pear Shaped Middle Section

The mad middle section – could be great, could all go Pear-Shaped… this section will have two local acts doing trying stuff out with Brian and Krysstal adding their unique compering style into the mix. This month we have Steve Skelly, local newcomer to the comedy scene, but already seeming at home onstage. Scary Strangers are the acclaimed comedy duo starring Ru Halwala and Tom Stevenson. Blending stand-up, improvisation, sketch and musical comedy, they create dynamic live shows and workshops that are joyful, unpredictable and deeply engaging. They are the founders of Scary Strangers Comedy Festival, the first ever dedicated comedy festival in the Blue Mountains, and Blue Mountains Improv.

  • Brian and Krysstal

    Brian and Krysstal

Your KCC hosts - A unique musical comedy double act with over 22 years’ experience in the UK (including semi-finalists on Britain’s Got Talent), they now live in the Blue Mountains. Brian is infamously grumpy and deadpan, while his assistant Krysstal is glamorous but ditzy. The combination is unique and very funny. Their timing is exquisite, their humour dry and sometimes bawdy. For many years they ran the Pear-Shaped Comedy Clubs in London, Edinburgh and Sydney, and bring their oddball style to hosting the monthly nights at the Factory Bar in Katoomba.

  • Gary Eck

    Gary Eck

October sees popular headliner Gary Eck returning to Katoomba: Gary has performed all around the world from Singapore to Paris, to New York and London and has done comedy shows at the Edinburgh, Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals. He has a fun, affable style, sharp wit and is able to tailor material and ad lib with the audience making each show unique.

  • Sam Bowring

    Sam Bowring

Our opening act this month is Sam Bowring: he has been doing this longer than most. He snuck onto stages at the Harold Park Hotel at 16, was getting paid by 17, and went on to co-found Mic in Hand at The Friend in Hand Hotel in Glebe. Sam's the kind of comedian who articulates something you've always half-thought but never managed to say out loud.
