Kaurna Reconciliation Walk: Bridging Now to Next
Event description
Celebrate Reconciliation Week with the Kaurna Reconciliation Walk: Bridging Now to Next, presented by the Graham F Smith Peace Foundation with the Kaurna community as part of the SA History Festival. This unique two-hour guided walk invites participants to reflect on shared histories, learn about Kaurna culture, and explore the impacts of colonisation.
Led by a Kaurna guide, the walk begins at the Kaurna Reconciliation Sculptures at the Adelaide Festival Centre King William St entrance. It winds around Pro and Tarntanya Wama (Elder Park). Along the way, gain insights into Kaurna history, culture, and the significance of these sites.
The Peace Foundation’s commissioned Kaurna sculpture and associated Walking Trail, developed in partnership with the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust, are powerful symbols of reconciliation.
This experience encourages truth-telling and meaningful contributions to local and national reconciliation efforts.
