Keeping Dialogue Natural
Virtual - Link will be sent via email after registration!
Saturday, November 15th, 10-11:30am
Age Group: 18+
Skill Level: Beginner
Max # of Participants: 10

Description: In this workshop we will be exploring dialogue and how to give it an authentic and natural flow when writing! We will compare examples dialogue and why they might be considered "good" or "bad". Before wrapping up, we will write our own examples of dialogue and receive feedback from the group. I encourage people to bring their writing, if they have some, to share and get feedback on!

By the end of this workshop, participants will learn how to write dialogue that sounds real and compelling. You’ll analyze examples of strong and weak dialogue, explore what makes conversations on the page feel authentic, and practice writing your own scenes. By the end, you’ll leave with sharper dialogue skills, fresh feedback from peers, and new confidence in your characters’ voices.

About the facilitator: Rosemary has spent most of her life in Pittsburgh and has been writing for as long as she can remember. She began keeping a diary at age eight and still journals to this day. As a child, she also wrote short horror stories and collaborated with a friend on mystery comics. Now, she continues to write poems and short stories, while also finding joy in reading, crafting, volunteering, and navigating life with her disabilities.
