Webinar Series: Knowing your Risks & Managing your Risks - Disaster Preparedness for Community Organisations
Description
Knowing Your Risks & Managing Your Risks
Wednesday 21 October 2026 | 9:00am–10:00am AEST | Online
What could disrupt your organisation, and what would that mean for the services your community relies on?
This practical webinar will help community organisations identify and understand the risks that could affect their operations, staff, clients and critical services.
Together, we’ll explore common risks facing community organisations, consider their potential impacts, and look at realistic controls and continuity actions that can be put in place now.
In this session, you’ll explore:
How to identify risks and potential disruptions
How risks can affect critical services and the people who rely on them
Practical ways to assess and manage organisational risks
Controls, workarounds and actions that can strengthen continuity
How risk management connects with Business Continuity Planning
The session will include practical insights from George from Orgwell Group, drawing on experience in risk management and organisational resilience.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your priority risks and practical actions you can start implementing within your organisation.
This session is part of the Keeping Services Open: Preparedness for Community Organisations webinar series, based on the ACOSS Six Steps to Disaster Resilience.
