Key Word Sign Basic Workshop online

Held online over 2 morning sessions.

This introduction to Key Word Sign workshop includes

  • An interactive teaching environment
  • Learning a basic vocabulary of signs to use in everyday settings
  • How to choose which signs to teach
  • Principles of Key Word Sign and Gesture
  • How sign helps communication development.

Your fee includes 

  • a copy of the Key Word Sign Australia official sign resource (Little Red Book). It is sent to you before training starts.
  • royalty payment to Key Word Sign Australia. 

 Every participant needs to have access to their own computer or ipad screen, with sound/microphone for the workshop.

You will receive the zoom link in the days prior to the workshop.

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance following your attendance at both sessions.

About your presenter.

Cathy Basterfield is a speech pathologist with over 35 years experience working with people of different ages, with different needs, in childcare & kinder, young school age, teens, school leavers, employment and adult services. She has been a Key Word Sign presenter for over 35 years. Cathy was an active member of the Victorian Key Word Sign committee for over 20 years, has supported the publication of a number of national Key Word Sign publications, including the Footy Book and as co-author of Let's Play With Sign. Cathy currently runs her own small business supporting people to have effective andf functional infation to engage in thier community.
