Marathon Month For Mental Health
Event description
Beginning Thursday 9th September on R U OK Day until 10th October- World Mental Health DayÂ
It's the Marathon that works around you. Walk, run, row, bike or roll a Marathon at your own pace during September. KGV’s Marathon Month is a fitness event that challenges you to complete a marathon in support of mental health and Women's Health Week (6-10 Sept).
This September, starting on R U OK day, participants are encouraged to complete the 42.2 km marathon distance and become a KGV Marathon Month Finisher. You can run, jog, walk, roll, row or ride (indoor or out) whatever your preference.
Complete it in a day, pound it out in a week or walk it all the way through the month depending on your level of fitness as a commitment to bettering your health and wellbeing and showing support for mental health.
We will have a live leader board for everyone's cumulative distances, and if you feel like going past the marathon mark, why not see how much distance you can cover in one month. What’s more, you can complete your Marathon anywhere, from your backyard to your neighbourhood block, or around your nearest park. Please be sure to stay safe and follow NSW Health Orders at all times.
*A Pre Exercise form MUST be completed prior to event participation. (The pre exercise form is combined with the KGV membership form - please select "joining" at top of form, enter your details and then select "free online class" at the bottom of the form). If Yes is answered to any questions medical clearance is required.
