Event description

What do crime, romance, and sports have in common? Join us on November 19 to find out!

We are deeply honored to host two remarkable authors for conversation, laughter, and celebration. Elise Hart Kipness (Dangerous Play and Lights Out) and Stacey Agdern (The Dating Contract, B’Nai Mitzvah Mistake, et al) will join Rob Lowenthal (Hudson Valley Books for Humanity) on stage for a lively discussion about their books and writing journeys. And both authors have much to celebrate: Elise is already working on her third book in the Kate Green series; and Stacey’s third book in the Last Girls Standing Series will be published in December. Yay!

We’ll have the authors’ recent books available for purchase and signing. Please join us!

About Stacey

Stacey Agdern is an award-winning former bookseller and romance writer who has reviewed romance novels in multiple formats and given talks about various aspects of the romance genre. She incorporates Jewish characters and traditions into her stories so that people who grew up like she did can see themselves take center stage on the page.  She lives in New York, not far from her favorite hockey team’s practice facility.

About Elise

Elise Hart Kipness is a television sports reporter turned crime fiction writer. The first book in her Kate Green thriller series, LIGHTS OUT, was an Amazon bestseller, Men’s Journal Top ten pick of 2023 and Woman’s Day Reads selection. The Kate Green Series is based on Elise’s experience in the high-pressure, adrenaline-pumping world of live TV. Like her protagonist, she chased marquee athletes through the tunnels of Madison Square Garden and stood before glaring lights reporting to national audiences. (At five feet, she often stood on a milk crate to interview NBA players).

In addition to reporting for Fox Sports Network, Elise was a reporter at New York’s WNBC-TV, News 12 Long Island, and the Associated Press, covering events including the Olympics, NBA and NCAA Championships, and the US Open. She is President of Sisters in Crime Connecticut, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Key West Library. When not writing, Elise loves reading, binge-watching thrillers, and she will fight you for the last scoop of coffee ice cream.

A graduate of Brown University, Elise has two college-age sons. Elise, her husband and their three labradoodles split their time between Key West, Florida and Connecticut.
