KID-O Orienteering Fun at Oaklands Reserve
Event description
Come along and have a go at KID-O, game-based orienteering activities for children aged 2-10 years old.
Developed by Adelaide Hills teacher, artist and orienteering coach Bridget Uppill, KID-O teaches a wide range of skills for life through fun games that help children develop a life-long love of the outdoors and nature.
Kids will have the opportunity to go on string courses, make contour mountains with playdough and create their own orienteering map. There will even be orienteering mat games for pre-walkers. Activities help to teach map reading, following a course and finding checkpoints - the basics of orienteering, which is a sport for all ages, seasons and fitness levels.
Please note that parents are required to go around each activity with their children. We cannot offer supervision for children at the event.
