Kids Classes
Kids will join professional artist and experienced educator Danny Stanley (and occasionally fellow professional artist/educator, Sophie Honess), with assistance from talented young artist Logan Hughes, for a varied and fun weekly lesson, which teaches kids the basics of visual art, using tactile resources, classical statues, cartoon figures, and more. With a basis in drawing skills, and various other mediums, kids will increase their confidence in all areas of artistic expression. Classes feature a mid-session break where kids run and play in the grassy fenced area of the Tamworth Community Centre.
This term will focus on drawing, painting, sculpture, animation and video games. We encourage kids to broaden their skillset by trying different mediums, but are also happy when kids follow their passion and interest in a particular area. The school has a variety of resources that kids enjoy, such as a wide and popular library of art books to study from; easels; cast figurines to draw; and many different art mediums, such as pastels, paints, pencils and clay. There is also access to a big grassy courtyard for a mid-session play break, with bats, balls, frisbees etc supplied.
Who is this for?
These classes are for kids who show a keen interest in and appreciation for visual arts, such as painting, drawing, sculpting and animating.
Venue
Held at The Tamworth Community Centre, a heritage listed building with modern amenities, as well as access to a large grassy fenced courtyard area for kids to play on.
Come & Try
We are introducing a new option for kids who have never tried this class before and would like to see if it is for them. If you purchase a Come & Try ticket, you can choose a session, first or otherwise, to come and try the class out. If you would like to proceed with the rest of the term, you can pay us for the remaining classes.
