Kids Cooking: All Things Green


Event description

About the Class: 

Come join us as we learn how to make food in a fun and healthy way using seasonal, local produce! Participants will be able to walk through MAP's Farmhouse Market and pick out fresh fruits and vegetables to use in each class!

 Here are all the classes in this series:

  • July 11 - The Art of Focaccia making and decorating paired with a summer salad and homemade dressing
  • July 25th - Fresh fruit and vegetable spring rolls with dipping sauces plus a fresh Asian-inspired salad
  • August 8 - All Things Green - Mojito fruit and grain salad, flavored herbal tea and a variety of green dips 
  • August 22nd - Greek Food - Spanakopita, Horiatiki (greek salad), Tzatziki, and Baklava

Important Info!

- This class is for kids 7 and up!

- Each ticket covers 1 full meal and 1 child's participation in the class. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay, observe, and help their child.

- Please bring a to-go bag and container for any leftovers.

- Please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accomodate you.

About the Instructor: 

Hi, I am Krista, the owner of UpBeet Cooking. I am a mother, world traveler and certified nutrition consultant. In our classes we learn not only the fundamentals of cooking, but the importance of the ingredients and why we use them. You can follow along at @UpBeetCooking. 

About the Venue:

Parking: Starting at 6 pm, you cannot park on the south side of Massachusetts Avenue (the same side as MAP). The parking rule changes right at 6, and there is no parking available right in front of MAP. There is usually parking available on side streets, Shields and Brayton (1 side of each street).

MAP Thursday Market: MAP will be hosting their Thursday Farmhouse Market from 3-6pm. They have a selection of fresh produce, as well as eggs, herbs, mushrooms, honey, flowers, preserved goods, beauty products, and more! Feel free to come early to check it out!
