Event description

Join us these Easter school holidays in the Hills for a fun day playing with clay to create a botanically printed trinket tray, and learning about natural dyeing techniques to botanically dye Easter eggs, a tote bags and create a handmade wooden bead necklace.

Throughout this workshop we will be exploring various ceramic hand-building techniques, such as slab rolling and pinching, as well as various decorative techniques. We will also be exploring the natural dye technique of eco-printing.

We will be using high-fire clay which will be fired and posted to you within 10 weeks from the workshop date. Various glazes are available for your child to choose on the day. These pieces will be twice fired and hand glazed before being shipped to your door. There will be various coloured wild clays available to decorate our creations, as well as stamps, flowers and leaves to add texture and patterns to our pieces.

This event is a space for children to explore the tactile experience of clay and begin to learn simple handbuilding and natural decorative techniques.

The natural dye portion of the workshop will teach your children about the possibilities of turning flowers straight from the garden into long lasdting masterpieces on wood and cotton. These pieces will be finished and ready to take home the same day.

This workshop is designed for children and parents/ carers are welcome to stay to watch. If you wish to participate with your child, there are child/ adult ticket bundles available.
