Kids in Art and Nature
Event description
Happy Souls Kids in collaboration with Art of the Minds and Kids in Nature are calling all kids and youth who would love the opportunity to get messy.
Does your child have big emotions? In this session we will teach your child healthy ways to self regulate through art and nature. When big feelings arise, it can be hard for kids to process their big emotions, so through art and nature we will support them to come back to their essence. Expect lots of mess and play.
Cost of event: $40 per child includes art supplies. Parents are encouraged to stay at the session.
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
Jacintha Field // Happy Souls Kids
Jacintha Field founder of Happy Souls Kids is a Family and Child Counsellor, Art Therapist, Breathwork coach, Meditation teacher and Kids Yoga teacher. She works with many children in the Surf Coast community and beyond to teach them healthy ways to self regulate and process big feelings to support them to become emotionally.
HAPPY SOULS KIDS exists as a safe place for children to come too deeply connect with their inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. We help children build emotional resilience, release stress, create stillness, enhance balance, endurance, flexibility, strength, coordination and teach them how to respond to their internal signals. Through meditation, yoga, breathwork, art therapy, resilience building and mindfulness, we help humans combat mental health and give children the tools to self regulate. Our values are love, respect, kindness, honesty, compassion, empathy, and caring.

Sarah Bolus // Kids in Nature
Sarah has been working in the outdoor education field for over 20 years, and is trained in secondary and early childhood education. She thoroughly enjoys working with children and has had the privilege of working with a wide range of age groups in a number of different settings and environments.
In Sarah's experience, children learn best through play, when they have the freedom to run, climb, explore, investigate, create and just get messy in nature. This way of learning is full of awe, wonder, adventure, and discoveries.
This inspired Sarah to create KIN, which aims to reclaim the outdoor childhoods of our past. She believes that all children deserve a wild childhood; to climb trees, make mud pies, jump in puddles, and dance in the rain. A messy childhood is full of adventure, wonder, and discovery.
