Kids’ Painting Workshop
Event description
Perfect for Kids aged 6-12!
Looking for activities for your kids during the semester break? Join the kids’ painting workshop to help young artists hone their skills! The aim of the 2-hour workshop is to decorate their own wooden treasure box to store their trinkets and precious items. Kids will have access to watercolour paints and different brush sizes to make their one of a kind piece! They will learn appropriate painting techniques and basic colour theory to help them to think outside the box and bring their creative ideas to life. At the end of the workshop, we will coat the box in a water-resistant sealant to make sure their creations last!
The workshop includes snacks (1 savoury and 1 sweet item) and a beverage (hot/iced chocolate or a juice box) prepared by Murrumbeena Pantry. The workshop is hosted by a local artist, Jan Siobhann. A certified baby-sitter with a Working with Children’s Check and First Aid certificate will also be present for the entirety of the workshop.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Watercolour is washable but the stains of certain colours might be hard to wash off. Make sure to be available for pick up at 5:30pm. Please disclose any allergies/dietaries and note that all food prepared has potential for cross-contamination as they are all made in the same kitchen. Email jansiobhanngraphic@gmail.com for any queries!
Please note that signing up your child(ren) for this workshop means that we are able to provide appropriate assistance (food, first aid, etc).
