Event description

We’re stoked to have Craig McGuigan from Kidz Need Dadz joining our Selwyn Parenting Week lineup!

He’ll be hosting a powerful one-hour online session on Sunday 18 May, and if you’ve ever wanted real insight into what families — especially dads — are going through, this one’s for you.

Kidz Need Dadz was originally set up to help men reach their potential as fathers, but over the years it’s become so much more. These days, they support dads and mums, grandparents, and wider whānau navigating complex family dynamics. They offer court based support, supervised contact, edcation, peer support groups, advocacy — and above all, a listening ear and a kind heart.

Craig is the South Island National General Manager for Kidz Need Dadz, and he’s been involved in social services for many years. He’s also a dad of four, has been a solo dad, and he brings a tonne of heart, honesty, and lived experience to every conversation he’s part of. Craig has a passion for proactive health and wellness - how can we support people with education and tools to be the best version of themselves.

He’s not about lectures — he’s about stories. Real, raw, relatable stories that shine a light on the struggles many individuals and families face behind closed doors, and the hope that comes from being truly heard and supported.

Join us online for this kōrero — open to everyone and completely free.
