Indie-folk artist Kim Yang recently performed with her band at the National Folk Festival and is currently touring her EP ‘Brave’, this will be a beautiful intimate concert for music lovers. Come to Can You Keep A Secret for Kim's stripped back version of her ethereal songs and inspiring stories.
Inspired by Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver, Taiwanese-Australian songstress Kim Yang writes music on love, death and mental health issues with evocative lyrics, driving melodies and soaring vocals. Her ethereal blend of sounds balances delicately between vulnerability and power.
Since 2019 Kim has released 2 EPs and received various grants from ArtACT, including to produce her upcoming new project. Her music has been aired regularly on Double J radio and premiered on triple J.
Kim has supported and shared the stage with ARIA awarded artists including Katie Noonan, Josh Pyke, Ben Lee, Kate Ceberano, Fanny Lumsden and StiffGins. She is a regular at bigs gigs and festivals, including the National Folk Festival earlier this year.
This year Kim is looking to expand herself skills as a songwriter and a home producer. Kim has been co-writing with various artists, including Katie Wighton (All Our Exes lives in Texas) and working on a few self-produced songs for her upcoming release.
