Event description

KIN Homeschool is a space where primary aged children can experiment, create and play with natural resources in a fun term time activity.

The sessions are led by passionate Nature Playworkers and feature opportunities to learn new skills, such as carpentry and knot tying, as well as playing nature connection games.

A major part of the program is developing self-risk assessment skills. To help build resilience, we allow safe and healthy risk taking. Our Playworkers support children to identify hazards and develop body awareness.

It’s no secret that Educated by Nature is big on play – in fact, it’s one of our guiding values for learning within nature. KIN Homeschool is about making space to meet the play needs of children. Resources will be available to extend children’s play and will be catered to the interests of the group. Mentors will work alongside children to provide support and extend play exploration and participation.

Term one of KIN Homeschool will focus on Rafts! Using pallets and pipes we will build our own rafts to take out on the lovely Swan River.

Please note, children must have turned 6 to attend KIN Homeschool. KIN Homeschool is a drop and leave program. Contact us if you have any questions about your child's ability to participate.
