Event description

This biannual event unites garden clubs from across the region. Usually hosted by a different club each time, this year the Wild Dunedin team of gardening enthusiasts will be your hosts in the beautiful grounds of the University of Otago.

Presentations include Trees for Bees by Chris Hinton and Fiona Eadie musing on rocks and plants. Geologist Marcus Richards from the NZ Treecrops Society will talk about Dunedin’s volcanic history and its local impact on soils and gardening and Professor Craig Bunt will present on the collaboration between the University of Otago and the Treecrops Society’s Heritage Apple Orchard, and the preservation of varieties and potential for a future food system.

The ever popular plant sale will be raising funds for the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust, the Sea Lion Trust, the Wildlife Hospital and the Dunedin Wildlife Trust.

Entry: Two well-rooted plants + $5
