✦ Class Description ✦

Trauma can affect how people experience the world, themselves, and others. But for many, it doesn't necessarily mean the end of their kink desires. A trauma-informed lens looks at practices that make room for those experiences while still allowing people to pursue their desires.

This class looks at what trauma-informed kink can look like in practice, both for kinksters with trauma histories and for the partners who love, play with, support, or build relationships with them. We’ll talk about nervous-system responses, communication, dissociation, overwhelm, unexpected reactions, emotional landmines, and what to do when things go somewhere nobody planned. We’ll also explore ways to build more choice, flexibility, responsiveness, and repair into kink and relationships.

You don’t need to identify as traumatized, know someone’s full trauma history, or be a mental health professional. This is for anyone who wants better tools for navigating the very human nervous systems we bring into kink, sex, power, and relationships.

✦ About the Educator ✦

Ember Solaris (they/she) is a Sadistic D-type leaning switch and social scientist who infuses her passion for research into every class she presents. A professional information sponge and infodumper, Ember's classes combine depth, passion, ferocity, and ethical complexity.

Ember collaborates with their co-organizer Ms_Kitten_ to run the Let it Reign and Reign of Blood platforms to provide quality, accessible kink education across experience levels, interests, and intensity preferences. Ember has taught across the country and beyond and regularly presents online. A disabled, queer, genderqueer nerd, they live in the gray spaces and hope to meet you there.
