Kino Kaberet 2025
Event description
Kino Kabaret is back!!! It's intense. It's fun. And it's the best way to dive into short filmmaking.
What is it?
The aim of Kabaret is to make as many short films as possible in 48 hours. It is an annual event undertaken by most Kino chapters worldwide. Whether you are a novice or a professional, there is something for everyone at Kabaret.
There's no theme, you simply make what you want. You can make short films, comedy sketches, music or dance videos, the world is your oyster.
The event entails:
PITCH NIGHT - Friday, 12 September, 7pm - 10pm @Petersham Bowling Club
Meet up for a pre-production meeting and a speed networking session. You can form into teams and studio time will be allocated for the weekend.
SHOOT & EDIT - Saturday, 13 September 9am - 9pm and Sunday, 14 September, 8am - 6pm @Sydney Props Specialists Marrickville
Collaborate with an array of filmmakers to bring each others ideas, skills and creativity to light.
With access to a soundproof studio and textured spaces, with sets and props, you can create as many wild, wacky, dramatic, scary or joyful films. Access to these spaces would normally cost thousands of dollars, but buy purchasing a very reasonably priced ticket along with other filmmakers, it makes it possible for us creatives to experience the space that's affordable to everyone, as well as getting the opportunity to make anything you want.
In one weekend films will be shot and edit to be screened on Wednesday, September 17th. All films must be submitted by midnight on Sunday the 14th!
SCREEN - Wednesday 17 September, 7pm - 10pm @Petersham Bowling Club
We're rolling out the red carpet so dress in your most glamorous frocks and dapper suits for the soiree and screening. There will be live music, trivia, and prizes for the best dressed!
