Kintusgi Workshop: Mending with Gold
Event description
Join us for a relaxing and creative afternoon exploring Kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold. This beginner-friendly workshop uses a modern method (not traditional lacquer) with resin and gold powder.
Kintsugi embraces flaws and imperfections, turning cracks into beauty. It’s a gentle reminder that what is broken can be remade into something meaningful and full of life.
No experience is needed. All materials are provided, and you're welcome to bring your own small broken ceramic (chipped or broken into no more than five pieces). Please note: We cannot accept items made of glass, metal, or wood, as this workshop is designed for ceramic and porcelain only. Very large chips or complex breaks may also not be suitable. In such cases, you may use a piece prepared by the host.
Enjoy delicious afternoon tea or coffee in a cozy café with beautiful views✨, hosted by a venue that supports women in the community. The session includes time for mending, reflection, and mindful connection.
This session is hosted by Aya, a Japanese university student passionate about sharing culture and slow, mindful living. While not professionally certified, she hopes to create a warm space where people can reconnect with beauty through imperfection.
