We have a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, and threatening or abusive behaviour, outlined by these terms, and at the discretion of the event organiser. By attending our events, you agree to these terms:
Sexual assault and unwanted sexual behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes unwanted kissing, touching, grabbing, groping, sexual comments or advances, deliberately grinding against someone without their consent, making someone touch you, or any other sexual contact without consent.
Respect people’s boundaries and personal space. No one owes you attention, conversation, dancing, physical contact, flirting or sexual interaction. If someone moves away, says no, appears uncomfortable or asks you to stop, stop.
Respect the physical and emotional boundaries of others, ask for consent before engaging in any form of physical and/or sexual contact, and respect the answer. This includes kissing, touching, dancing or any other form of intimate contact.
Consent must be:
a) Freely given: Agreement must be a true choice, free from pressure, force, manipulation, or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
b) Reversible: Anyone can change their mind and stop an activity at any time, even if they said yes before.
c) Informed: Everyone involved must know and understand what they are agreeing to.
d) Enthusiastic: An active, and enthusiastic "yes" is required, rather than just the absence of a "no".
e) Specific: Saying yes to one act does not mean saying yes to a different act.
Do not harass, intimidate, threaten or abuse others. This includes unwelcome comments, unwanted attention, repeated advances, aggressive behaviour, bullying, stalking, or making someone feel unsafe on or off the dancefloor.
Do not engage in any kind of discrimination, including but not limited to, discrimination based on ethnicity, gender identity, ancestry, place of origin, race, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, age, marital status, and ability
Respect the bar staff, security staff, and venue policies.
Do not question anyone’s identity based on their perceived appearance.
Respect the physical space: help keep it clean, watch where you put your things, clean up after yourself.
Look out for each other. We encourage everyone to be an active bystander. If you see someone being harassed, targeted or made uncomfortable, check in with them and offer support. You can also speak to a friend, Kirana organiser, designated staff member or venue security. You do not need to handle a situation yourself. If something feels unsafe, please come and speak to us.
If you experience or witness behaviour that makes you feel unsafe, please tell a Kirana Designated Person or venue security as soon as you feel able. We will take concerns seriously and work with designated person/s, security and venue organisers to determine an appropriate response.
