Description

A knitted rectangle can turn into a fingerless mitt. Start to explore various ways of combining knit and purl stitches. Practise all the combinations using 10g-20g of 8 ply yarn and then start the rectangle using your special yarn choice. You will complete the knitting at home and then seam the sides leaving a gap for your thumb.

$50 covers tuition & pattern. You can also book in-store.

BYO:

8ply or 10ply yarn
Knitting needles - 4mm or 4.5mm, depending on your yarn
Optional: stitch markers, scissors, blunt darning needle

A wide selection of knitting needles and yarn is available for purchase in store. Choose from new or pre-owned. You can also test drive needles from Josephine's personal toolset to see how they feel to you.

Your Tutor: With almost 60 years of experience, Josephine has extensive knowledge of knitting. She teaches knitting to others and regularly adds new techniques, patterns, and methods to her skill set.

While our address is on Main Rd, our shop is located at the rear of Tanja’s Café, on the corner of Oceanic St and Pye Lane.

Refund policy

General Cancellation and No-Show Policies for Village Creative Studio Co-op. Below are the terms and conditions for workshop participation: • Gift vouchers are available and may be used for workshop bookings. • Credits from cancelled or postponed workshops may be applied toward booking a new workshop. • Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of full payment. • A minimum of two participants is required for a class to proceed. • Classes may be cancelled or postponed; in such cases, participants will receive a refund or credit applicable to another workshop within 12 months. The refund or credit will 95% of the original workshop price (due to administrative fees). • If a participant cannot attend a workshop after booking and payment, or does not attend, no refunds or credits can be issued, as preparation have been completed, and places may have been reserved for others. All purchases are final. • Workshop bookings are transferable; if you cannot attend, you may nominate someone else to take your place. We're a community of creatives committed to making, promoting, and selling high-quality handmade goods, sharing skills, and supporting and empowering each other in our pursuits. KEY FOCUS AREAS

· ARTISAN HANDMADE SHOP – A curated retail space showcasing and selling locally made, high-quality handcrafted works.

· ART AND CRAFT SUPPLY SHOP – Affordable new and de-stashed craft supplies, fabrics, yarns, tools, and equipment.

· CREATIVE WORKSPACE – A dedicated space for workshops and creative circles, supporting both skill-building and social connection. Creative circles are peer-led and promote wellbeing through craft and community.

· WORKSHOPS – Led by local artisan facilitators, these hands-on classes help participants learn new techniques and gain confidence in their craft.

· COMMUNITY OUTREACH – We bring creativity into the community through events like craft days, exhibitions, retreats, and visits to local facilities such as retirement villages.

· VOLUNTEERING – Volunteers are the heart of our co-op. They enhance our operations, contribute ideas, host events, and promote our mission in the wider community.
