Steph Broadbridge is a Sydney comedian who somehow turned a jazz vocals degree from ANU into a career making strangers laugh. That's not a pivot — that's a magic trick. She brings a perspective to stand-up that feels genuinely unlike anyone else working Sydney stages right now. Pick up a ukulele, tell raw personal stories, be relentlessly funny — Steph does all three, sometimes in the same set. Her shows go places other comedians won't. "Hot Chick/Tired Mum" at the Factory Theatre in 2021 turned heads, and "Breaking: The Musical" proved she can build an entire theatrical world from scratch using nothing but comedic instinct and sheer nerve. Fans have described her style as pitch-black humour wrapped in a warm hug, which is about as accurate as it gets — she tackles trauma, neurodiversity, and the beautiful chaos of everyday life without flinching, then makes you laugh at all of it. The facts are hard to argue with: 2019 RAW Comedy National Grand Finalist, over 300 gigs in a single year, and headline spots at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Fringe, Splendour in the Grass, and Sydney Comedy Festival 2025. A genuine fixture of the local scene, she's a familiar face at Kookaburra's Comedy and the stages that make Sydney's comedy circuit worth caring about.

You probably know that moment — you're humming along to some massive pop hit and suddenly realise it's the exact same four chords as every other massive pop hit. That's Benny Davis's fault, and we mean that as a total compliment. He spent a decade as the keyboard force behind comedy rock legends The Axis of Awesome, racking up over 20 million YouTube views with their "Four Chords" medley and touring Australia, the US, UK and Europe — including a night at the Sydney Opera House. A genuine graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Benny brings real musicianship to everything he does. The guy can actually play. Like, really play. What makes Benny's work special is that it's never music used as a vehicle for jokes, or jokes used as an excuse to play music — it's both things at once, and both things are excellent. One moment you're genuinely moved by a melody; the next you're completely losing it at the punchline, sometimes in the same bar. His solo shows carry all the craft from years on big stages, and he's brought that same energy to Dragon Friends, the comedy D&D podcast on Sanspants Radio, where he proves he's just as funny away from the piano as he is behind it. At Kookaburra's Comedy, we have him on as much as possible — a great excuse to get out of the house, honestly.

Ash Chapman has a unique blend of dry wit and surreal observational skills, which he uses to captivate audiences with punchy storytelling. Ash grew up on the Sunshine Coast and moved to Melbourne in 2016 to study Film. As he moved into stand up comedy, his filmmaking skills has earned him a devoted following of 100k on TikTok for his relatable Aussie characters. He has made his mark in the scene with victories in competitions such as Crowd Control: A Crowd Work Competition, and recognition as a state finalist in 2023 RAW Comedy. Ash frequently travels around Australia and beyond to perform for sold out crowds, so he is not one to miss.

Johnson brings a whimsical, charming style of comedy to every stage he steps on. Since breaking onto the Sydney comedy scene, he's played at shows and venues including Crazy Funny Asians, The Comedy Store, and opened for Tony Chou. In September 2026, he'll be performing 3 different split-bill shows at the Sydney Fringe Festival. The only people who think this is a good idea are the ones living in his head.
