• What is Kookies Comedy Showcase?

  Kookies Comedy Showcase is a stand-up comedy night in Sydney, held at the Royal Hotel Darlington. Every show features a headliner supported by Sydney's funniest comedians. Sometimes we even get surprise drop-ins from well known comics who are in town. Expect a night full of big laughs and great vibes. All shows are curated by comedians.

• Who runs the show?

  The event is run by Kookaburra’s Comedy, the same team behind shows at We Three, the Nelson Hotel in Bondi Junction and Drummer in Glebe. All of the shows are part of a mission to grow Sydney’s comedy scene by supporting local talent.

• Where is the show held?

  Upstairs at the Royal Hotel Darlington, just minutes from Redfern Station and Sydney University. It’s a relaxed, friendly pub atmosphere with drinks flowing all night.

• How much are tickets?

  Tickets are usually $25 online or $30 on the door, depending on availability. We recommend booking online to secure your spot and save money. This show often sells out, so buying tickets on the door is not guaranteed.

• Who performs at Comedy at Kookies?

  Each lineup features a rotating cast of headline comedians from around Australia - often seen on TV, festivals, and major clubs - plus some of Sydney’s finest support acts. We have previously booked Daniel Muggleton, Luke Heggie, Bron Lewis, Al Del Bene, Andrew Barnett and Anisa Nandaula and more.

• Is it suitable for groups or date nights?

  Absolutely! It’s one of the best date night ideas in the Inner West, and perfect for a fun night out with mates. The cozy intimate pub setting, quality acts, and relaxed atmosphere make it ideal for couples or groups.

• Is food and drink available at the show?

  Absolutely! The Royal Hotel Darlington serves great pub food and has drink specials all night for Kookies ticket holders.

• What’s the difference between this show and Kookies Comedy on a Saturday?

  Kookies Comedy on Saturdays showcases Sydney’s rising comics and new material, whilst Kookies Comedy Showcase on a Thursday is a professional stand-up night featuring established comedians. Both are produced by Kookaburra’s Comedy.
