Travel instructions

Car: Five Dock is easy to get to by car and is surrounded by Great North Road, Lyons Road and Queens Road. Street parking located around Fred Kelly Place, with a mix of half hour or 2-hour free parking. Or there is free 2-hour underground parking at Five Dock Square Car Park (14 Garfield Street underneath Coles), which is the costed at half hourly rates. Train: Unfortunately, there is no train service to Five Dock. Bus: Routes 438X, 491, 492, 530, 406 stop near Five Dock Library.

Entry instructions

Five Dock Library is located near Fred Kelly Place, above the Coles supermarket. There are three ways to get to the entry. 1) As you approach from Fred Kelly Place, you will see a set of stairs to walk above Coles, and at the top of the stairs the library doors will be to your left. 2) If you park in the underground parking or need elevator access from ground level, the elevator in the car park travels to ground level where Coles is, and the up to the library doors. 3) Lastly, if you approach from Garfield Street, there will be a ramp that will go up the east side of the building and up to the library doors.

After entry instructions

After entering Five Dock Library through the automatic doors, you will see the open space area of the library and a concierge desk where staff are located. The Bay Room (where the program the is held) is located to the right of the entry area, along with the children’s area to the left. Keep walking straight down to find some study areas, a quiet room along the back wall, and some more seated areas as you walk around our collection area centralised in the middle of the open space.

Hazards

There are no trip hazards, stairs, or push doors into the building. Entry to Five Dock Library is through two automatic doors, then entrance to the Bay Room (where the program is held) has foldable doors that are usually opened out, or if closed there is a push door to enter.

Toilet location

Female and Male toilets are located outside the building and require a pin to enter along with a push door to open. Please see the front desk to get the pin code, which you need to enter to open the door and access the toilets.

Accessible parking

There are 14 accessible parking spaces at Five Dock Square (Coles underground parking). You can then use the elevator to travel up to level 1 and access the library.
