Thu, 17 Apr, 9am - 2pm AEST

Event description

Experience Australia's most scenic flatwater paddling venue on a guided trip in a VERY big canoe (it's a monster - 30 foot long).

These boats are incredibly stable and a lovely way to share time together in nature. Our expert instructors will take you on a guided tour of the Kangaroo River and Lake Yarrunga. With up to 14 people in a boat, it's a fun way to spend time with friends and make new ones! No experience is necessary; we will provide you with basic canoe instruction on the day and provide all necessary safety equipment for you. The tour will include time to have a picnic lunch, swim and relax by the riverside.

Meet at Valley Outdoors headquarters 9am

Return to HQ approximately 2:30pm

Please bring the following things with you:

· Comfortable clothes suitable to the weather, this includes long pants (not jeans) and a warm woollen jumper or fleece jacket. Cotton is not suitable, if cotton gets wet it makes you cold.

· Raincoat - see the venue details and wet weather policy below.

· Shoes that you are happy to get muddy and wet.

· Thick warm socks. Woollen socks are great.

· Beanies (woollen hat) are recommended, easy to carry, but not essential.

· Thermal Underwear can be worn under your clothes. Recommended but not essential.

· Swimming costume. Can be worn under your clothes

· Water bottle – at least 1 litre per person.

· Personal medication including ventolin puffer if required.

· Camera – at your own risk. The Gangurang, Kangaroo Valley is incredibly photogenic (as are the canoes!); we recommend a waterproof camera and a leash so you can’t drop it.

· Second set of clothes to be left in the vehicle or office for the end of the day, including a second pair of shoes and socks.

· A waterproof bag for wet items.

This event is made possible through the support of the Kangaroo Valley Lion's Club Inc. and the NSW Department of Regional Youth and is open to all Shoalhaven Youth aged 11-24 years
