Kopurererua Valley - a guided walk
Event description
Kopurererua Valley Reserve is our hidden gem; largest urban wetland reserve in Australasia and an ecological and historical hotspot.
This is a guided walk led by some of Tauranga’s experts in their fields; Topics and areas of interest include wildlife and ecosystems, historic and environmental significance.
Easy to access location for family fun.
Actual walking time 50 minutes each way. Plus commentary time. Allow 3 hours total.
It is an easy walk except for steep steps with no handrail in one section. (Walking poles may help or you can just miss that bit out)
What to bring/wear: shoes suitable for unpaved tracks; (walking poles); clothing as per the weather forecast, water and snacks, personal medication if necessary
Postponements: if the forecast is miserable or the valley is flooded by recent rain, the event will be postponed until Saturday 13th September. Check your emails on the morning of 7th September.

This event is free, but donations on the day towards planting native trees in the Valley by the Rotary Clubs of Tauranga will be welcome.
