Kweela Woodland Community Planting Day 27 July 2025
Event description
Join us for a community day of tree planting at Reg Bond Reserve in Viveash.
Cleared for agriculture in the 1800s this site is one of many degraded floodplains along the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River). Habitat fragmentation and reduced canopy cover along this waterway is a significant threat to our local ecology and its resilience to the effects of climate change.
Our restoration efforts here follow on from smaller plantings conducted in the 1990s and play an important role in increasing the health of the river, providing habitat for threatened animal species and combatting climate change.
We provide: Trees, planting equipment, facilities, guidance from the Trillion Trees team, and morning tea. Just bring a hat, gloves and sturdy shoes and a raincoat if the weather is wet!
Detailed instructions and maps will be emailed to all attendees a week before the event.
