Following the success of last year's event, The King's Women's Network (KWN) and King’s Community Church are hosting the Fun Run and Pink Chapel Service on Sunday 7 May.
 
Join us for a run or walk with new and old friends of the King's community, while creating awareness and raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Stay on and join us at The King's Community Church Pink Chapel.

The King's School, North Parramatta 

Please park in the designated school carparks and walk across to the Prep Pavilion.

Registration Fees

* Individual Adult (walk or run) 3km, 5km or 10km - $35pp
* Individual Student  (walk or run) 3km, 5km or 10km - $20
* Individuals under 5 (walk or run) 3km, 5km or 10km - $0
* Family (2 Adults and 2 Children) (walk or run) 3km, 5km or 10km - $85
* Breakfast Roll - Egg and Bacon - $10
* Cold Drink - $3.50

A coffee van will be onsite selling coffee and hot chocolate on the day.  Breakfast Rolls must be pre-purchased as they can't be purchased on the day.

07.00am – Registration and warm-up
07.30am – 10km Fun Run/Walk commences
07.45am – 5km Fun Run/Walk commences
08.00am – 3km Fun Run/Walk commences
08.30am – Fun Run/Walk concludes
09.00am – Presentation of prizes
09.30am Chapel Service at the Pink Chapel with Guest Speaker 

Come dressed in your active wear with a theme of pink to show support for the 1 in 7 women in Australia who are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Prizes will be awarded for the most imaginative pink costumes. 

Register yourself, your family, or a group of friends to honour those touched by breast cancer and make a significant contribution by getting active for life-saving breast cancer research.

What is the KWN Fun Run?
In 2023, the Mother’s Day Classic has become a local event which has been the inspiration for the KWN Fun Run/Walk to be held at King’s. The Mother’s Day Classic is one of Australia’s most inspirational, case-driven community events. Traditionally the Mother’s Day Classic is held in Sydney every year at the Domain, this year  KWN is hosting a similar event for the The King's School community. The aim is to unite and inspire the community to create a fun and engaging event to celebrate and remember those touched by breast cancer and to raise life-saving funds for research.

You can choose to walk, jog or run 3km, 5km or10km. It’s completely up to you! 

When is the KWN Fun Run?
KWN is coordinating the event and asking you to get active for breast cancer research on Sunday 7 May 2023. You’ll be joining a special community who are coming together to celebrate and honour the 1 in 7 Australian women who are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

What distance do I need to run or walk?
You can determine what distance suits you best. The options are 3km, 5km or 10km. Walk, jog or run, it’s completely up to you! Come and discover the cross-country running tracks at King’s that your boys use in their running events and regular training.

Who can participate in the KWN Run/Walk?

Friends and families - anyone connected with the King's community is welcome. Participants will be encouraged to dress up in pink as it is a fundraiser for breast cancer and awards will be given at 9am for the best dress-ups. 

What does my registration go towards?
This event is focused on creating awareness and raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. All profits raised from the KWN Fun Run/Walk will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. You will receive a receipt of your booking via an automated confirmation email from Humanitix.

What is the event program for the morning?

Starting at 7.00am with registrations and warm-up stretches, with runner, joggers and walkers starting at 7.30am with the 10km distance event, 7.45am for the 5km distance and 8.00am for 3km.

It is anticipated most participants will have completed their run, jog or walk by 8.45am where there will be an opportunity to enjoy a drink of choice and some breakfast snacks. It is expected all official proceedings will conclude by 9.30am.

Do I have to run to donate?

Can I attend Church in my exercise gear?

Activewear and costumes are welcome attire for our Pink Chapel Service.

Can I come to Church if I’ve never been before?

Everyone is welcome to join the service after the Fun Run/Walk. If it is your first time at King’s Church, please introduce yourself and say hello to some of our friendly King’s Community Church attendees.

Will everyone be attending church after the KWN Run/Walk?

You are very welcome to attend the service after the Fun Run/Walk. Of course, Fun Run/Walk participants may have other plans at the conclusion of the Fun Run/Walk. 

Are you able to volunteer and support the KWN Fun Run/Walk?

Events like this require help from many people – pre-event as well as on the day. Volunteer roles include:

  • Food purchasing
  • General set-up
  • Raffle items
  • Sourcing prizes for best-dressed team or individual
  • Registration desk
  • Personal trainer – warm-up after registering and before event
  • Cooks at BBQ
