What is the KWN Mother’s Day Fun Run?
In 2022, the Mother’s Day Classic has become a local event which has been the inspiration for the KWN Mother’s Day Fun Run/Walk to be held at King’s. The Mother’s Day Classic is one of Australia’s most inspirational, case-driven community events. Traditionally the Mother’s Day Classic is held in Sydney every year at the Domain, this year it is going local and KWN is hosting a similar event for the The King's School community. The aim is to unite and inspire the community to create a fun and engaging event to celebrate and remember those touched by breast cancer and to raise life-saving funds for research.

You can choose to walk, jog or run 3km, 5km or10km. It’s completely up to you!

When is the KWN Mother’s Day Fun Run?
KWN is coordinating the event and asking you to get active for breast cancer research on Mother’s Day, Sunday 8 May 2022. You’ll be joining a special community who are coming together to celebrate and honour the 1 in 7 Australian women who are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

What distance do I need to run or walk?
You can determine what distance suits you best. The options are 3km, 5km or 10km. Walk, jog or run, it’s completely up to you! Come and discover the cross-country running tracks at King’s that your boys use in their running events and regular training.

Who can participate in the KWN Mother’s Day Run/Walk?

Friends and families - anyone connected with the King's community is welcome. Participants will be encouraged to dress up in pink as it is a fundraiser for breast cancer and awards will be given at 9am for the best dress-ups.

What does my registration go towards?
This event is focused on creating awareness and raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. All profits raised from the KWN Mother’s Day Fun Run/Walk will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. You will receive a receipt of your booking via an automated confirmation email from Humanitix.

What is the event program for the morning?

Starting at 7.00am with registrations and warm-up stretches, with runner, joggers and walkers starting at 7.30am with the 10km distance event, 7.45am for the 5km distance and 8.00am for 3km.

It is anticipated most participants will have completed their run, jog or walk by 8.45am where there will be an opportunity to enjoy a drink of choice and some breakfast snacks. It is expected all official proceedings will conclude by 9.30am.
