Ky's Microboard Introduction Evening

Join us for a fun evening with Ky, live music, food, conversation, and connection. You are welcome to BYO beer or wine. It's a relaxed night and a chance to find out a little more about what a Microboard is.

Who is Ky?

Ky is a Redcliffe musician who is autistic and well connected throughout the Redcliffe community. Music is the way Ky communicates and connects with people.

He works as a Studio Assistant at Musicare, has worked as an inclusivity consultant for BIGSOUND, volunteers at Northey Street City Farm and has attended music college. He is also a paid speaker at human rights & advocacy conferences, where he shares his story via videos (and music)

Ky is the founder of the Redcliffe Peninsula Drum Circle & Jammalong, a free weekly community event that has been running for about three years. It happens every Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am at Suttons Beach. There are plenty of regulars, new faces turn up all the time, it gets noisy and energetic right there overlooking the stunning Moreton Bay, and people say it's the highlight of their week.

What is a Microboard?

A Microboard is simply a board for one person.

Ky is looking at a small group of around seven or eight people who bring different ideas, strengths and connections... people who might open a door here and there, make connections, share ideas and support Ky as he continues to grow and be a valued member of his community.

It's really about bringing together a small group of people around Ky and his future. There is absolutely no expectations to join Kys Microboard... tonight is just an info session to spark your curiosity:)

Meet Microboards Australia

Jaquie Mills, CEO of Microboards Australia, and Ewa Neal will join us online via the screens at Musicare, live from Western Australia, for around 20 minutes.

They'll chat about what a Microboard is, how it works, share some stories and answer questions.
