Enjoy a delightful ladies lunch while hearing from Dr Meg Elkins, a senior lecturer in the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT University. Meg is a behavioural and applied economist with research interests in societal and cultural economics. Her work focuses on those on the fringes to support sustainable livelihoods. She is equally interested in applying behavioural insights to societal issues, particularly around behavioural messaging. She has worked on projects with City of Melbourne, the Busking Project and UK Behavioural Insights Unit Canva8.
She is a regular media commentator on economic issues. Her ability to get to the heart of a topic and convey its impacts on the general public has made her as a sought-after expert for media commentary on a diverse range of topics, including the 'lying flat' trend, dynamic ticket pricing, supermarket price gouging and cost of living. She was featured on 7 News, SBS News, The Project, Nine News, ABC (TV, radio and online), The Age, Australian Financial Review and news.com.au as well as industry publications such as Retail World Magazine and Ad News. She has over 120 radio interviews across stations like the BBC, ABC Radio National, 3AW and featured on Podcasts.
