Sat, 17 May, 5:30pm - 8:30pm AEST

Event description

Join us for an evening celebrating freshwater produce and the best ways to prepare it, featuring a live cooking demonstration by renowned chef Matt Golinski.

The night begins with Bundaberg local Tracy Patterson, who will share expert tips on preparing freshwater fish, showcasing her favourite recipes and techniques to enhance flavour.

Guests will enjoy cheese boards while the MC sets the stage before Matt Golinski takes the spotlight for a live cooking demonstration. He will guide attendees through the best techniques to cook freshwater fish, offering insights on flavour pairings and preparation methods.

Dinner will be served at around 7.00pm as guests will take their seats and enjoy a catered dinner inspired by the evening’s lessons.

As dinner enjoyed is finalised the atmosphere shifts as live acoustic music sets the tone for a relaxed and social evening.

We anticipate this evening will leave attendees with valuable culinary knowledge, great food experience, and an enjoyable night of learning, laughter, and connection.

The Borumba Deer Park will host ‘Lake to Plate’ in the Stock Yard area of the park.

This is a BYO event, and we encourage the community to support Borumba Deer Park by making a weekend of it. Enjoy the beauty of the Mary Valley, with a day on the water followed by an unforgettable evening with Tracy and Matt.

Proudly presented by the Lake Borumba Fish Stocking Association.

Proudly Sponsored by Queensland Hydro and the Queensland Government.

Please note: If enough fish are not caught on the day, the cooking demo may feature other freshwater or marine produce like fish or crab. If caught fish aren’t used, the chef will still share valuable tips.
