There was a time when women wore wings.

Across Neolithic Europe, women shaped clay into bird-bodied forms. They danced with beaked masks, shapeshifted between worlds, and carried the language of wind, feather, and season in their bones. In fairy tales, swan maidens and goose women still remember this way of flying beyond the known world, loving deeply, returning with vision.

Bird song was the first language
It is still said to be the voice of prophecy

This Lammas/Imbolc, the threshold of harvest and migration, Brigid’s Day we gather in circle to listen for the oracular wisdom of the language of the birds.

When Women Had Wings is a two-hour ceremonial circle devoted to the ancient memory of bird women: swans, cranes and winged goddesses who cross between earth and sky, life and death, lover and beloved. Through the symbols in fairy tales, mythic journeying, movement, and sacred presence, we trace the red thread that connects us, weaving our bodies into deep cosmic time, when earth and spirit were not separate, and we knew how to fly.

This is an evening of story and love.
Of wrapping ourselves in a mantle of feathers and wild wise dreaming.
Of remembering what lifts us when the north wind calls.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
