Event description

A presentation on the Land for Wildlife program's role in habitat conservation on private land, which will follow the Upper Maribyrnong Catchment Group's 2024 AGM. 

Land for Wildlife (established in Victoria in 1981) is a voluntary, free, non-binding wildlife conservation program that supports landholders in conserving and improving natural habitat for native wildlife on their land. The Land for Wildlife program is one of the oldest continuing private land nature conservation programs in Australia, with more than 14,000 registered Land for Wildlife properties across Australia, including almost 150 registered properties in Macedon Ranges Shire. This presentation will focus on the Land for Wildlife program's:

  • why landholders choose to get involved
  • reach & impact of the program
  • eligibility requirements & property qualifications
  • how to apply
  • local Land for Wildlife property case studies.

  • 6:30 pm - pizza & tea/coffee
  • 7:00 pm - Annual General Meeting, including election of Upper Maribyrnong Catchment Group’s committee for 2024-25
  • 7:30 pm - presentation on Land for Wildlife program
