Love your city and enjoy meeting new people? City Guides – Landmarks and Laneways is the perfect opportunity for mature-aged residents, parents or others looking for flexible, part-time work during peak tourism seasons.
Designed for those who enjoy sharing local history and hidden gems, this course equips you with the skills to confidently lead visitors through our city's most iconic landmarks and charming laneways. Whether you're retired, semi-retired, a parent seeking casual work, or other, this is a fantastic way to stay active, social, and connected to the community—while earning extra income!
Delivered in partnership with the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), and Tourism WA, this course is made even more accessible through subsidised funding from Tourism WA.
Attendees will learn:
- City History & Culture – Gain in-depth knowledge of local landmarks, historical sites, and hidden gems.
- Tour Guiding Techniques – Learn how to engage and entertain groups with storytelling and visitor interaction.
- Navigation & Route Planning – Understand the best ways to lead groups through the city with ease.
