Landscape Rehydration: Water in all the right places
Description
This half-day workshop will cover the fundamentals of the small water cycle and explore a range of strategies, including natural structures,that can improve landscape function.
As part of this field day, landholders of Rybrook Farm will talk through the regenerative practises they have been using over the past 10 years. We'll start the day off with the basic principles of landscape rehydration, before walking around the farm to see water movement, cycling, and storage in action, then finish up with a hands-on activity using brush to help stabilise erosion.
This workshop is supported by the Future Drought Fund’s Small Network Grant as part of a broader effort to build climate resilience across our community. Everyone is welcome to come along no matter your background, no farming or hydrology knowledge needed.

Sharni Pike
Sharni is an environmental engineer with a focus on hydrology, the science of how water moves through landscapes. Having visited countless farms across the state in her role with the Mulloon Institute, she brings a practical understanding of the small water cycle created by healthy vegetation, and how it can change the trajectory of a landscape.
